Hello!
Here is my first post about No Longer Here, a game I'm currently developing. Today, I want to talk about the game and discuss some thingswith you guys.
First things first, what can you expect from the game?
The story takes place in a realistic, modern-day setting — so don’t expect fantasy or supernatural elements.
No Longer Here is heavily focused on its narrative, telling the story of Ben, a young man struggling with deep emotional trauma. Much of the story is told through symbolic scenes, which are open to interpretation. It’s up to you to find meaning in them.
Gameplay
- As a choice-based game, I’ve implemented three core systems:
- Moral - Will Ben try to be a good person, or will he stop caring about how others see him?
- Mental - Ben’s mental health changes depending on your choices. How unstable will his mind become?
- Relationships - Your decisions will shape how characters perceive Ben. For now, there are no plans to include romance.
- Puzzles - You'll face puzzles throughout the game. Some are essential to progress, while others unlock hidden secrets.
Languages
The plan is to support two languages: English and Brazilian Portuguese. Portuguese is my native language, and I know a thing or two about English
